2026 GAMA Policy Roadmap
Shaping the Future of Health Care in New Mexico
The Greater Albuquerque Medical Association’s Policy Roadmap establishes a long-term framework for advancing a stronger, more sustainable health care system in New Mexico.
Grounded in the experiences of New Mexico physicians and GAMA’s work on health care policy, the Roadmap identifies the principles and priorities that will guide our advocacy today and help shape meaningful reform for the future.
Our approach is both practical and forward-looking: we will pursue opportunities to improve health care today while also working to create the conditions necessary for meaningful, lasting reform tomorrow.
The Roadmap is intended to look beyond a single legislative session or election cycle and focus on the enduring issues that affect patient access, quality of care, and the sustainability of medical practice in New Mexico.

Publishing the Roadmap is only the beginning. GAMA will use this framework to educate and engage physicians, strengthen relationships with policymakers and community partners, build coalitions around shared priorities, and create opportunities for members to participate directly in advocacy.
